Feeling a bit bad for a few of the young people in my class. I dont feel the propasal was proply explained to those who have never done one. I had public art for a class and I'm only just clued in!
I think this project is demanding and artistically quite sophisticated. It was offered to this group which is an amazing experience. Right at the outset I said it would be a learning curve. There is a lot of support material and there is also a great deal of choice from working with photography, to video to more complex techniques. I think Ceri Hann did a great job putting out ideas, like light jacking, which again are quite attainable for the less experienced in the class. Not all projects will go ahead, the experience of putting together a proposal like this is invaluable and worth the struggle. D
I dont know I didnt find it that bad, but then I had a lot of experience writing bidding proposals for corporate from years working in IT. I think there was a lot of material provided, either through meeting with council, discussions with class in car-park and in class. For me its new experience because I never worked with light as medium before, and it will be quite challenging. I think it is quite daunting to embark on such project, I think its called getting feet wet. There is a lot of research involved on side, so google is ones best friend it has answers to many things including how to write proposal. I think main problem is for one to have solid idea, once you have it and work it out, proposal is not that hard.
